An Amazing Wonderful two days of cycling!
Praise God Almighty for the wonderful perfect weather, nice and sunny in the morning, providing a bit of shade
for the hill climbs and sunny spots for the photo opportunities at mid-day, and light rain to cool us down in the
afternoon and showers of blessings when we headed back to the hotel in the evening. We did not mind the rain
at all ..washes off all the dust and dirt from our bodiesand bikes. Kept us cool too! What more could we ask
for?! After the smooth ticketing and loading onto the ferry and clearance by the Singapore and Malaysian
customs and Immigration, we received a delightful surprise of the police escort by Corporal Mahmood and
Zainal from the Bandar Penawar Police Station, arranged by courtesy of the Malaysian High Commissioner.

The cheerful camaraderie and easy chatter amongst the SWCT Angels made light work of the 160km we
covered on the first day and 40km on the second day. Oh! What fun it is to ride in the wide open spaces of
Desaru - Sedili! Can you imagine being handed bananas and water by the police officers in their police car?!
Not only did they keep watch over our safety, they also complemented the domestique support of our support
vehicle service provided by Lezmie and Wan on their motorbikes and Pak Haji in the van supplying water,
bananas, jelly and ice-cold cordial drinks apart from tube change and a mad rush to the ferry terminal!

Some of us benefitted from Noor's super fast tube change and super fast catch up to accompany Jolene,
Fida, Jeannie and Paul for the return leg, and Yong Siew's super fast lead of the front pack. Ryan who took
the fanta-beautiful-lous photos could not quite believe his eys at how fast these ladies were! We mere mortals
were truly amazed at the prowess of these SUPERwomen! At the end of the looong day, it was a welcome treat
of bananas and ice-cold water from Desaru Golden Beach Hotel to refresh us. Then it was feasting and good
cheer as we all sat down over three sumptuous meals to spin our yarn of gibbon sightings, family of wild boars
crossing, millipede stampede, sharing of agony, forming of new friendships and just enjoying each others'
company.

With all the thanks and farewell exchanged, all too soon it was time to head back to Singapore via Tanjung
Belungkor with a leisurely ride on the second day. Thank God for the perfectly cool weather in the afternoon,
the perfect evening light for more photo opportunities, the send off by out police escort and safe return home.

It was indeed a triumph of the human spirit to know that we can reach out of ourselves, beyond our limitations
to go the distance ...in our cycling for pleasure, and for charity. Let's go the distance in raising funds, too!
Hip! hip! Hurray!

Hey Nur, I haven't gotten the chance to tell you yet what a great cycling trip it was to Desaru. Everything
went really smoothly and I could tell everyone had great fun! It was a hard ride for me, the 160km. But with
all your support and encouragement I'm really glad I did it. Thanks for the beautiful trip, and all for a good
cause too! I'm looking forward to more rides with you guys in the coming year. Merry Christmas and a Happy
NewYear.

Hey hey, Can't help but get into my mail quickly to say a few words ( managed to do it 'coz came back earlier,
Hee! Hee! ). You said thank you to us for taking part, now I'd say a thank you back to you, Noor n Jeannie for
making this ride a successful one. From organizing logistics to minor details, I say WELL DONE! And also to
those who have helped in one way or another, CHEERS! 'Coz you were telling me the other day, from trying to
get sponsors, not enough of helping hands and so forth ...this event had been organized so well that it couldn't
have been better. Can't wait to have another such rides, be it for charity or leisure. ( Of course must rest my
legs first, lah! ) It's been my first and wonderful experience. When I saw the first UpPPP-hill, I was telling
myself I can't be doing this ...not much help by the little SHORT downhill. Beh tahan! I wonder how much
calories I have lost? Ha.

I'll try to get myself involved in some sort of help in the next one ( admin, logostics, etc. ) do let me know.
Btw,will Ryan or you be selling those photos that were taken? Can't wait to view it. Ok gotta rest.
You take care. Cheers!
                                                                                                                                  - Desmond
Dear Noor and Jeannie, Just want to say " Thank You " for inviting me ( and probably everyone else too ) to the
ride and I have enjoyed every moment of it. It was WORTH every pain and suffering we endured during the
journey. Everyone was very supportive, spontaneous, fun and friendly!! We get along well with each other and
had a lot of laughs during this ride.

The food and lodging were great and we were pretty well fed till the end. The policemen and marhalls were very
helpful and supportive as well. So in all, everyone did such a fantastic job by completing the ride. We covered
nearly 200km for the 2 days and I was very well impressed by everyone's effort and determination. The ride
has definitely motivated me to embark on longer rides in the future. More so, you and Jeannie have put in a lot
of effort to make this happen. I think the two of you deserve a big round of applause!! Hurray!!
Cheers!!!
                                                                                                                                  - Mimi
Dear Noor and Jeannie, I second Mimi ...save time writing the long message. Desaru has been a learning
experience for me and making new friends is wonderful. I'm glad I handled the curves well ...hehee.. cheers

Hi Noor, Just wanted to thank you and Jeannie for organizing a fantastic trip. Very well organized and everyone
was so friendly and helpful. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Great workout too. Let's do another ride soon.
                                                                                                                                  - Linden
It was so much fun :) Should do this more often. Thanks again for organizing the trip.
                                                                                                                                  - Vincent
Hi Noor, First of all, thank you very much for your kind support duing the cycling this weekend and also thanks
for your email and photo. I've started triathlon-running, swimming and cycling in April, but never had enough
time to train myself for cycling, my weakest one among those 3. This fund-raising cycling event changed my
perception on cycling and also made me realize that I need to ride more! Before joining your long distance my
cycling event the next time, I will build up more base! Anyways, thanks once again for everything, it was very
nice meeting you and Jeannie and the rest of the active and friendly members! Will see you soon. Have a nice
day ahead! Kind Regards,                                                      -
                                                                                                                                  - Aya Yoshi
