" The hill training has livened up lately. There are less complaints from the
girls after each training session, but they will need to be trained under harsher
climate conditions in order to prepare well for the event. The field training in
Desaru on 22nd June will tell " she said.
With only 2 months left before the event, two more signed up to join the first
ten. How much more work and sweat these two new bravehearts need to
put in for their coveted Alumni jerseys isn't that difficult to imagine. Meanwhile,
training at the hills in Singapore has intensified somewhat over the last month.
Noor Azmah, has spoken confidently of each of the girl's progress although
she stopped short on commenting if any one is likely to give up halfway
during the climb.
1st June 2008: UCI ( Union Cycliste Internationale ) president, the honourable
Mr Pat McQuaid sent greetings and well wishes for the inaugural 2008 CGI
event last week. His letter ( bottom right ) was promptly read to participants
the same day enrolment into the CGI drew to a close.
The 2008 biennial Cameron Graduation Initiative is the first such event for
women beginner cyclists in this part of the world and will be keenly observed
by government ministries both here and in Malaysia.
